About this place
Make hot pot the centrepiece of the meal with Hakata-style salt motsu hot pot, adding vegetables and tofu as you go. The menu lists it at ¥1,188 per serving, with a minimum order of 2 servings. Additions include cabbage, garlic chives, bean sprouts and tofu, as well as chicken, pork and tecchan—beef intestine—so you can build up the pot as you eat. Ramen is available to finish.
One diner who shared a hot pot with colleagues described starting with yurinchi, mapo tofu and draft beer, then having salad before moving on to the salt motsu hot pot. They found the yurinchi generous in size and satisfying, with its scallion sauce, while the mapo tofu stood out for its depth as well as its heat. It is an easy sequence to imagine: a few dishes to enjoy while the hot pot is on its way, followed by the main event.
For something other than hot pot, options include chicken thigh grilled with yuzu pepper and chicken nanban served with tartar sauce. One visitor wrote that they ordered these among several dishes on the all-you-can-eat menu, and particularly enjoyed the seasoning on the grilled chicken and the substantial portion of grilled hokke (Atka mackerel). Hokke can also be ordered à la carte, making it an option whether you are sampling a range of dishes or simply want grilled fish on the table.
Drinks include draft The Premium Malt’s and Kaku highballs, along with chuhai in flavours such as lime, yuzu and Calpis. If you are unsure what to pair with the food, a refreshing classic chuhai could be a good place to start, or you could choose a drink to go with the yuzu-pepper grilled chicken.
The menu ranges from small plates to hot pot, fried dishes and rice, and all-you-can-eat options are regularly available. The restaurant is listed as having private rooms and being suitable for groups. At the Abeno branch, the selection works for a gathering around a hot pot or a drinks outing where everyone can share dishes to suit their tastes.
